22nd - 26th April 2011
First ever visitors to Glyn-Y-Mor with our dogs Sonny & Purdy. Emma & Andrew were very friendly and accommodating, and we very much appreciated our welcoming gifts. The cottage is furnished and equipped to a high standard, being spacious, light and airy. The cottage is well situated for lovely local coastal walks and the local pub is within walking distance. Considering this was a last minute break we couldn't have wished for better weather or better hosts. Cant wait for our return in July. Good luck to Emma, Andrew & William with their new venture.
June & Debbie.

Lovely Accommodation with plenty of room. Very quiet and warm too. Beach is not too far and is really nice. We were lucky with the weather - no rain but quite windy. In all a really great stay. A big thank you to Emma & Andrew.

With the children and family above, we appreciated the large amount of room for us all to move about easily. Beautifully quiet and a great area for walking. As an older couple, we really liked the home from home feeling. Well done Emma & Andrew. We will probably see you again one day.

Well done with the barn conversion, you have done a lovely job. Our first day here it rained all day and we were happy to 'slob out' in your warm and cosy house. We hope this venture proves very successful for you all and we will tell all our friends and family what a lovely holiday home you have here.

2nd visit to cottage, lovely to see finishing touches since our visit earlier in year. Had friends round at the weekend and weather was great, this was topped with the barn being in ideal location and spacious enough to accommodate 10 for dinner and breakfast! Emma and Andrew again were fantastic hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Look forward to our next visit.

We love the place, the only downfall is that we wish we had longer here. Emma was extremely welcoming when I arrived and trustworthy to hand the keys over without any formalities. The cottage is a beautiful design. We felt so at home, we stayed in for the night and had friends round for dinner.
The beds were so comfy we had to force ourselves up to enjoy the stunning coastline. The barbe-que was very thoughtful and a real birthday treat. Our hosts were very flexible and accommodating at short notice. We really hope to come here again as we felt totally at home. Thank you.

The oldest of 3 generations staying, writes with most enthusiasm! Such a comfortable spacious house with plenty of room for all "speeds" and tastes in telly or sounds. Your warm welcome gave us a very good start to an excellent week. Thank you and all best luck for the future.

This was our first visit to Wales. We were here for my sisters wedding at Fairyhill. She married a wonderful Welshman. Our stay here was fabulous. We enjoyed perfect weather and visited many of the local beaches. My kids could not get enough of the water and surf. Perfect for landlocked children from the mountains!
The house served us well with 4 adults and 2 children. The kitchen was perfectly stocked and we only had to purchase our food. We enjoyed your hospitality and the happy couple also express their thanks to you Emma, Andrew & William.

The barn is finished to a very high standard and is situated in a beautiful location. We had some lovely walks down to Oxwich and Slade Bay. The Greyhound at Llanrhidian and The Village Inn, Mumbles both serve excellent food and are suitable for dogs. This is such a pretty area and we all loved the holiday. A big thank you to Emma and Andrew for being so welcoming and good luck with your new venture. x

30+ years away from the Gower and I wanted to show the kids what real beaches are: Three Cliffs, Rhossili, Horton, Caswell and Pobbles - needless to say the kids loved it. The cottage was perfect for all the beaches, nice and quiet but not too remote. Finished to a good standard and well equipped.

Fantastic place, thank you very much Emma & Andrew! We loved our time in your special region of the world. The coast and beaches and hills are wonderful. The people we met were lovely. The salt marsh lamb was incredible! We fed some local horses some apples and enjoyed castles and old stones. Many Thanks once again from us both! And a special thought to the miners we lost and their families and friends.
Chris Gutkind - London (+ Canada, Montreal)
A lovely area, the Gower, friendly people, and good to come in Sept when the roads are relatively free. We had marvelous walks, on the hills + on the coast. The cottage is superb, I love it!

What a fabulous place to spend Christmas with the added bonus that it is even better in real life than on the website! Emma made us feel very welcome from the outset and had gone to considerable trouble to make sure that we had everything we needed for Christmas lunch. All those extra Christmas touches were very much appreciated. The dogs and us enjoyed the fresh air as we tried to walk off excesses of food and drink. This high quality conversion does a lot of credit to Emma & Andrew. Well Done! P.S the baby was not born before we left.

First time to the Gower. Beaches wonderful especially on a clear day! A lot of foggy weather. Oxwich Bay Hotel - nice, ask for the snug if you have dogs better than sitting by the door - great food. Rhossili - Beautiful. Good to park at other end and visit nearby pub. Kings Head - Great food, warm welcome and great jukebox!

What a Fantastic stay! Glyn-Y-Mor is a great holiday "home from home". Just about everything you could need, spacious, old yet modern, with all home comforts. The Gower has a miriad of walks right from the door. Our favourite being straight down through the caravan park, around Oxwich Point (look out for seals, wild ponies and cormorants) on to Oxwich Beach, onto the hills/cliffs above Great Tor, down to 3 cliffs. Back through Nicholaston Woods, back for a pint or two on the beach at Oxwich Bay Hotel. Rhossili is breathtaking. After two weeks we have suntanned faces and one tired somewhat slimmer Labrador. Andy, Emma Thanks again we will be back! All The Best

We have never ever stayed in a cottage with so much space! Fabulous, really fresh and clean. The arrival of long overdue summer weather meant early morning cuppas, lunches, afternoon drinks could all be enjoyed on the suntrap decking. Thank you Emma & Andrew

A beautiful place to stay - would definately recommend to friends and family. Our only complaint is that one week just isn't long enough to explore such a stunning part of the country! Highlights included Rhossili Beach, Slade Bay (all to ourselves - magical!) ice cream at Verdis at Mumbles overlooking Swansea Bay. Our Son loved his 10th birthday here - think he will want to do this every year! Thank you Andrew & Emma x

We always enjoy holidays at the Gower and this one was no exception. Weather forecasts were mixed but the rain only kept us in on one day. Most days we enjoyed sunshine at the beach or the decking area. Slade Bay is good for rock pools. Easy walks to Horton and Port - Eynon. Village life at Penrice church. 50 mins coastal walk to Oxwich Bay. Children may like ducks and chickens at Sealands Farm, next left at top of road. Today we spotted a seal at Oxwich Point.

We have been here during the week and the rest of the country has experienced the worst September storms in decades. We've had rain but escaped the worst and have been able to enjoy the beautiful Gower beaches, most particularly Oxwich Bay which has had us walking the dog on it daily. A very warm and welcoming cottage: a superb conversion that has retained the character of the original barn. Thank you for the delicious eggs!

Two sisters drove down the M4
For a break at the barn, Glyn-Y-Mor
The roads were quite scary,
The bends very hairy,
But a welcome was inside the door.
The barn is so comfy and cosy,
The mattresses, dreamy and dozy,
We cooked and we walked,
We drank and we talked,
And all in the garden was rosy,
No signal from Caroline's phone,
Induced a unanimous groan,
Things only got worse,
When Pat lost her purse,
And desperately needed a loan,
We will always remember the night,
When so far from pollution of light,
We raised our eyes high,
To the black velvet sky,
And a million stars twinkled bright.
P.S Pat found her purse, Caroline found a signal but dropped the phone! Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

Our week started with a Llanelli Scarlets match: Will had the fortune to meet some Welsh International players such as George Narth and Matthew Rees - a real highlight. Our stay has been so wonderful and the week has gone by all too quickly. We have really enjoyed walking on the beaches - Rhossilli, Worms Head, Caswell Bay and the Mumbles. Our favourite has been on the doorstep, Oxwich Bay - loved the sand dunes and the walk to the little bay opened up to us by the tide receding. My daughters and I enjoyed the Dylan Thomas exhibition in Swansea - free! and the boys went crabbing in Mumbles - a bit dangerous at high tide but successful none the less. Cardiff and Cardiff bay was another day trip - we saw casualty being filmed by the National Assembly! We would desperately like to come again - the cottage is wonderfully warm, comfortable and spacious retreat - a real gem! Thank you so much - we will definately recommend to family and friends, this beautiful cottage is a beautiful part of wales.

A wonderful week exploring the Gower! Beautiful beaches, fantastic scenery and really friendly people (and dogs). Several days of exciting walking. Nan needed a piggy back, Lottie fell in the nettles, Grandpa and Monty scrambled down a cliff, Mum fell over twice! And Annabel and Dad were the champion walkers - Annabel for not moaning and Dad for always waiting to keep going just a few miles. A fantastic meal in The King Arthur, Reynoldston and lots of walks on almost deserted beaches - Three Cliffs definately our favourite despite the long (very long) walk back up the sandy path. A very warm, well equipped and comfortable base - perfectly located - Thank you!
